Capturing Life: Shutter Stories of Photography, Videography, Content Creation Journey

Hey everyone! I've recently shifted my focus to learn the ropes of photography and videography for YouTube and Instagram Content Creation Journey. I reached out to pros I follow on social media for guidance and watched numerous videos on these subjects. Although it was initially overwhelming, I now have a microscopic understanding of these creative endeavors.

I value opinions on media gear from influencers on Instagram who consistently upload awesome content. Over time, I've improved my skills in using my gimbal with my phone to record specific content. Planning is crucial, ensuring I visualize the end product before shooting, preventing random shots and videos.

I recently acquired a Canon R100 Mirrorless camera with an 18-45 lens, following the advice of many and adding a 50mm f1.8 "nifty fifty" for capturing excellent shots. Practice sessions included using different settings and learning the basics with my dog as my model. To enhance my content creation, I invested in the complete Adobe editing ecosystem, a DJI Mic for better audio, and an Epidemic Sound account for royalty-free background music on YouTube.

Despite feeling a bit overwhelmed, I tend to perform at my best when pushed beyond my comfort zone. I recently took the first photos of my truck with the Canon R100 during a snowstorm, using an Nd filter on 4 stops and my 50mm shot at 1/60, ISO 100, and f1.8. I also edited some video clips into an aesthetically pleasing layout for an Instagram Reel.

On the truck front, I installed the Z1 OffRoad Transmission Skid Plate, and more upgrades are on the way, including a transfer case skid plate and an Auxbeam AR-600 RGB Switch Panel. I plan to mount the panel on the dash using the BulletPoint RUBIGRID system or in the center cubby, or possibly near the sunroof control on the ceiling. YouTube videos detailing all the truck upgrades and installations are in the pipeline.

In terms of non-truck gear, I have a few additions coming to enhance my workflow, including a felt desktop pad, anti-fatigue wrist support, and a USB-C dongle with various ports for smoother efficiency. I'm even considering configuring an old TV, using the dongle to connect it to my MacBook for editing photos and videos.
